Maintaining Your Bath Fitter Installation
- We recommend cleaning the silicone on a weekly basis.
- Allow the moisture in the bath area to escape and evaporate.
- Ensure there is no standing water on the silicone after each use.
Bath Fitter silicone is designed to be mold resistant. Depending on the amount of use, maintenance schedule, seasonal temperature and ventilation, proper care is required to keep the silicone looking fresh.
The best way to prevent any build-up on the silicone is to wipe down the unit after each use. If your time is limited, a natural and cost-effective solution is simply cleaning the unit with white vinegar (50/50 mix with water) or using a cleaner from our approved cleaning list with a bleach component. Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner with Bleach works very well.
Always thoroughly rinse any cleaner off the acrylic with water. Pay particular attention to rinsing out the area around the drain.
